Maleficent Inspired – Erin Condren / Happy Planner Free Printable

Anyone else feeling a little nostalgicĀ for classic Disney when they made really memorable villains? For me, aside from the Evil Queen of Snow White, the other witch of my childhood would have to be the grand damme Maleficent.

Anzac Day – Erin Condren/HP free printable

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance inĀ AustraliaĀ and New ZealandĀ that commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”. A bit like 11 November,Ā  on 25 April every year, Anzac Day is the day to honour the members of theĀ Australian and New Zealand Army CorpsĀ (ANZAC) who fought atĀ GallipoliĀ against theĀ Ottoman EmpireĀ duringĀ World War I.Ā

I happen to be a dual citizen, but I do think Anzac Day is just as important as Armistice Day and is a good way to honour theĀ soldiers who are willing to give theirĀ lives to defend theirĀ country.

Lily Pulitzer Inspired – Happy Easter- Erin Condren / Happy Planner free printable

Can’t say we have any particular Easter traditions in my family – apart from the annual chocolate egg of course! šŸ˜‰ We did use to always try to at least go to church on Good Friday and Easter Sunday whenever we could, but that’s not so easy this year with me and my broken foot.

Still, easter for me always means bunnies and chocolate eggs. How about you?

Chinese Year of the Dog – Erin Condren/HP free planner printable

To those who aren’t sure what the Chinese New Year celebration is, basically, it takes place on the first new moon of the year. traditionally, in China, it’s Christmas before we ever knew about Christmas – an excuse to have a party with the family and give presents to the children.

This year, 2018, is the year of the dog – which doesn’t really mean all that much unless you are the superstitious/religious type. Other than that, it’s just part of the counting method of the traditional Chinese calendar and comes around every 12 years.

People born in theĀ Year of the DogĀ are usually independent, sincere, loyal and decisive according to Chinese zodiac analysis. They are not afraid of difficulties in daily life. These shining characteristics make them have harmonious relationships with people around them.

  • Strengths
Valiant, loyal, responsible, clever, courageous, lively
  • Weaknesses
    Sensitive, conservative, stubborn, emotional

Domesky’s Faber-Castell Gelato Dupe (swatch and review)

Being somewhat financially deficient (and down to the fact that I have a lot of crafty hobbies running simultaneously), I’m always on the hunt for craft-related dupes. As anyone who loves art and craft-related hobbies knows, Faber-Castell is well known for producing some of the best quality art supplies. These are also high-end as far as art supplies go.

The advantage of gel highlighters is that they give smooth, fluorescent lines that don’t smear inkjet printing. They have broad, crayon-like tips that wear down as you use them, so they’re best for highlighting large areas. They are not suitable for precise highlighting. They also don’t bleed through paper (i.e. they can’t be seen on the other side of the page).

Most bullet journalersĀ (like me) sometimes like to colour code and decorate our planners using highlighters. So, for me, knowing that gel highlighters exist is something of a godsend (so to speak).

As far as I can tell, gel highlighters do not smear pencil or gel, rollerball, or fountain pen ink, but can cause ballpoint ink to feather. (According toĀ JetPens )

As I also like having lots of colours to choose from, buying multiples can get very expensive, very quickly. So I was really chuffed to find these today at my local Domesky (one of the more recent AsianĀ brand “dollar store”s that has opened in Sydney).

Swan Lake Erin Condren Free Printable

One of the things that have really stuck with me since I was very little is my love of dance ā€“ especially ballet. I donā€™t really think about it much, but the stuff Iā€™ve learned from those classes seem a bit like muscle memory now.

The first ballet I ever saw was swan lake – my very first real Barbie doll was a swan princess ballerina one. I think it was this show that made me want to learn ballet in the first place. That and the fact almost all little girls do fall in love with those pretty tutus.

Thanks to all those years of dance classes, the December-January period for me always makes me think of balletā€¦

Birds (feathers) and Bees ā€“ free printable stickers ā€“ Erin condren

One of the things that got me interested in decorative planning in the first place is that I have been interested in scrapbooking since pretty much primary school.

Itā€™s been a lot more about making cards for the past couple of years ā€“ since I didnā€™t even find out that decorative planning was really a thing since the beginning of this year (although I did have some idea that people liked to use stickers in planners from all the Erin Condren stickers sets Iā€™ve seen).

Two of my favourite things is bees and feathers. I made myself this set for a birthday card Iā€™m making a very good friend. Thought the image set was too pretty not to share. The bigger pics pit perfectly on personal sized planner paper. The smaller ones are perfectly sized to fit the classic Erin Condren / happy planner boxes.

Cherry Blossom / Sakura – Erin Condren free printable stickers

I dunno what it is but there’s something I’ve always loved about cherries and cherry blossom. i recall really loving that cherry blossom perfume by L’occitane back when it was first launched. my favorite cough sweet is also the cherry flavor one by Vicks (I think).

Anyhow as I’m a big fan of Japan-inspired planner spreads (sushi and otherwise), sometimesĀ you always want a little extra to add to the spread but suits the theme. So couldn’t resist making this one to go with Victoria Thatcher’s sushi and also her japan themed printables šŸ™‚

New Year Lilly Pulitzer print inspired – erin condren free printable

I think fireworks and champagneĀ are what most of us expect from the New Year’s parties. No snow in Australia, but there is definitely fireworks every year…

No plans to do anything this year – already in the city as working New Year’s Eve … usually one of the quietest days in retail so I reckon I won’t have much to do during the day. Don’t think huge parties/crowds are going to be my thing for a while as the physiotherapist banned me from walking too much as my broken ligament in my foot is still healing…

Lilly Pulitzer inspired Christmas – erin condren free printable

Here is the last ChristmasĀ themed spread I made for the year. Again, it’s inspired by what got me interested in using planners in the first place…Lilly Pulitzer.

I wanted to create a mix of stickers that were both Christmassy and not at the same time. think I found some pretty nice ones.

Happy Holidays!
